Rustic 1/3 lb Classic Burger
Materials
- 1/3 lb 150 g 80/20 ground beef
- 1 tsp Keith’s Kitchen Chronicles Classic Burger Rub Classic Burger Rub – Culinary Chronicles: A Journey Through Cooking %
- 1 brioche or potato burger bun
- 1 slice cheddar or American cheese
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 pickle slices
- 1 slice tomato
- 2 –3 slices red onion
- Butter for toasting the bun
Instructions
Form the Patty
- Gently form the ground beef into a 1/3-pound patty, about ¾ inch thick.
- Press a small indentation in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.
Season
- Sprinkle Classic Burger Rub evenly over both sides of the patty.
- Let the burger sit for 5 minutes while the grill or skillet heats.
Cook the Burger
- Cook the Burger
- Grill Method
- Heat grill to medium-high (450°F)
- Cook 3–4 minutes per side
- Add cheese during the last minute.
- Cast Iron Method (Rustic Favorite)
- Heat the skillet over medium-high heat
- Add burger and cook 3–4 minutes per side
- Add cheese and cover briefly to melt.
Toast the Bun
- Butter the cut sides of the bun, then toast in a skillet or on the grill until golden.
Build the Burger
- Bottom bun
- → mayonnaise
- → burger patty
- → cheese
- → tomato
- → red onion
- → pickles
- → top bun
