A good burger doesn’t need much. Just quality beef, a hot grill or cast iron skillet, and the right seasoning. This rustic 1/3-pound burger is built to highlight the bold flavor of beef with our handcrafted Classic Burger Rub

Method
 

Form the Patty
  1. Gently form the ground beef into a 1/3-pound patty, about ¾ inch thick.
  2. Press a small indentation in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.
Season
  1. Sprinkle Classic Burger Rub evenly over both sides of the patty.
  2. Let the burger sit for 5 minutes while the grill or skillet heats.
Cook the Burger

  3. Heat grill to medium-high (450°F)
  4. Cook 3–4 minutes per side
  5. Add cheese during the last minute.
  6. Cast Iron Method (Rustic Favorite)
  7. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat
  8. Add burger and cook 3–4 minutes per side
  9. Add cheese and cover briefly to melt.
Toast the Bun
  1. Butter the cut sides of the bun, then toast in a skillet or on the grill until golden.
Build the Burger
  1. Bottom bun
  2. → mayonnaise
  3. → burger patty
  4. → cheese
  5. → tomato
  6. → red onion
  7. → pickles
  8. → top bun

Notes

🔥 Keith’s Kitchen Tip

For extra rustic flavor, cook the burger in a cast-iron skillet with a small pat of butter. It creates a beautiful crust and deep beef flavor.
