No-Sugar BBQ Sauce (Diabetic-Friendly)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup tomato paste no sugar added
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce check label: no sugar added
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke optional but recommended
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ –1 teaspoon monk fruit sweetener (optional zero-glycemic

Equipment

  • medium sauce pan

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Simmer 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  4. Cool and transfer to a jar.
