No-Sugar BBQ Sauce (Diabetic-Friendly)
- medium sauce pan
- 1 cup tomato paste (no sugar added)
- ¾ cup water
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (check label: no sugar added)
- 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional but recommended)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- ½ –1 teaspoon monk fruit sweetener (optional (zero-glycemic)
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Whisk until smooth.
- Simmer 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Cool and transfer to a jar.
