🍲 Soup Season Is Here! One Weekend, One Soup, All Winter Long!
Join Keith's Kitchen Chronicles as we kick off a cozy winter-long cooking project, committing to a new homemade soup recipe every weekend until spring.
Welcome to Soup Season 2026
There is something undeniably magical about a pot of homemade soup simmering on the stove as the autumn leaves fall. The aroma of sautéing onions and garlic, the rhythmic chopping of fresh vegetables, and the slow development of a rich broth are the reasons I cherish my time in the kitchen. With the temperatures dropping, I am thrilled to announce the start of our new series: Soup Season 2026–2027!
The Mission: One Weekend, One Soup
Starting this weekend and running through March, I am committing to making one unique homemade soup every single weekend. We will be traversing the spectrum of comfort food—from time-honored family classics to indulgent restaurant-style bowls and adventurous international dishes. My goal is to learn, refine, and share these experiences with you.
What’s on the Menu?
Over the next several months, we will explore:
- Comfort Classics: Think heart-warming Chicken Noodle, Beef Barley, and Loaded Baked Potato Soup.
- Rich & Creamy: Velvety Broccoli Cheddar, Beer Cheese, and savory Mushroom.
- Seafood Specialties: Elegant Shrimp and Crab Bisques.
- Bold & Hearty: Spicy Chicken Tortilla, traditional Chili, and Brunswick Stew.
- International Flair: Zesty Pasta Fagioli and Italian Wedding Soup.
Kick-Off: Creamy Mushroom Soup
We start October 24–25 with a classic Creamy Mushroom Soup. This dish relies on the earthy depth of fresh mushrooms balanced by aromatic thyme and a splash of heavy cream.
Cooking Tip: To achieve the best flavor in any mushroom soup, take the time to brown your mushrooms properly in the butter. Don't crowd the pan, as moisture release is key to getting that beautiful, caramelized color that acts as the backbone of your broth's flavor profile.
Let's Cook Together!
This project is better when we do it together. I want to hear about your favorite soups, your family’s secret recipes, and your results in the kitchen. Tag us in your photos and share your suggestions in the comments—your favorite bowl might just become a feature on our weekend schedule!
By the time spring arrives, we will have built a diverse collection of tested, tried, and loved recipes that might even form the foundation of our first-ever Keith’s Kitchen Chronicles Soup Season Cookbook. So, sharpen your knives and find your biggest soup pot. Soup Season is officially here!
